SEATTLE – A man who crashed his car into several people at Seattle's Pike Place Market last month has pleaded not guilty to vehicular assault charges.
The Seattle Times reports that Travis C. Lipski entered the pleas Tuesday. According to a police report, the 39-year-old Seattle man told officers he had been smoking synthetic marijuana before the accident. Witnesses said they saw him slumped over the wheel of his Subaru wagon just before he sideswiped a parked car, struck and injured three pedestrians and crashed into a produce truck parked in an alley.
Lipski is a stand-up comedian who moved to Seattle about a year ago. He has been released from custody after posting $75,000 bail.
